First Blood

Personal music project in the form of EP. Four songs inspired by four-movement classical sonata cycle, organized in contrasting tempos. Form and material development under great influence of Beethoven and romantic composers.

⛧First Blood⛧ is a symbolically titled debut song which kicks in conventional metal groove. Lyrics inspired by Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment and Raskolnikov’s mental breakdown upon committing a cold-blooded murder.

⛧Necropolis⛧ is a bitonal track with vocals and music clashing in verses between g-minor and g-sharp. It assembles a tense, dissonant ambience. At one point the song loses sanity, unleashing all metal. Lyrics inspired by personal visions of dystopian future. The outro had been originally sketched for a different song.

⛧Sunday of Hatred⛧ represents an ode to George Orwell and his masterpiece novel 1984. Exaggerated mix of thrash metal, metalcore and 30-track male choir chanting hate. A degenerate, brainwashed crowd sworn to big brother.

⛧Naoko⛧ is an alternative metal melancholic track inspired by Haruki Murakami’s Norwegian Wood. The young female character suffers a childhood trauma and decides to undergo the same fate two decades later. Music sinks into dichotomy of heavy guitars and dark acoustic vibe.
